Renewal of Woldring Verhuur

Fresh look on top of a maintainable Twig codebase

The challenge

Woldring Verhuur is a long-established Groningen-based landlord with a wide range of apartments, studios, rooms and parking spots. Their website dated from 2015 and no longer met current expectations, neither in technology nor in appearance. Time for a renewal, aiming for a pleasant impression for house hunters and a codebase that can run for years without workarounds.

Our solution

Together with our designer and the client, we arrived at a design that all parties were happy with. We then rebuilt the design on a staging environment first, so everything could be calmly aligned before going live. Under the hood, the site was rebuilt from loose PHP templates to Twig, and all components were updated to current versions in one go.

A pleasant search experience

For house hunters, the site has become more clearly structured. Available units are quickly findable, photos and characteristics are presented clearly, and the contact process is set up to be low-threshold. For the Woldring Verhuur team, the editorial side has at the same time become much more pleasant to work with.

The impact

Woldring Verhuur is back online with a contemporary, reliable website. Visitors immediately see what is available and can quickly get in touch. Behind the scenes, the site is ready for further development, without the team continuously bumping into deferred maintenance.

Why this project stands out

The strength is in the combination of:

  • A new design created in close collaboration with the client and our designer

  • Full transition from loose PHP templates to maintainable Twig templates

  • All components immediately upgraded for years of future-proofness

  • A pleasant search and contact flow for house hunters
