The challenge

Judoshop is the official judo shop of the Netherlands and serves judoka from beginner to competitive athlete. The webshop had been running on WooCommerce for years, but that platform was starting to creak: slow pages, cumbersome management and ever more custom workarounds to keep things running. Time for a renewed shop that is fast, easy to maintain and matches their position as the specialist for and by judoka.

Our solution

We migrated the entire webshop to Shopify. Products, customers, orders and historical data were fully transferred, without a day of downtime for the ongoing sales operation. On that new foundation, we built a Shopify theme that strengthens the Judoshop identity, with clear navigation per age group and specialism.

Ready for the right customer

A judo suit for a six-year-old is something different from an IJF-approved competition outfit. The new shop is fully set up for that distinction: visitors immediately find the right size, the right type and the right discipline. That saves clicks, saves returns, and gets customers to checkout faster.

The impact

Judoshop now has a webshop that loads faster, runs more reliably and effortlessly handles busy periods around competitions and seasons. Day-to-day management is significantly easier, leaving the team more time for the real work: getting judoka the right gear.
